Junior Golf

2012 Junior Golf Program

Songbird Hills is proud to provide a great opportunity for junior golfers, promoting etiquette, skill development, fair play and the fun of playing the game of golf.

We also offer special rates to juniors enrolled in any of our programs, discounting the green fees after noon, Monday–Thursday, from mid-June through August.

Songbird Hills Junior Golf Program is open to all golfers 7 to 17 years old.

Beginner Lessons

These lessons emphasize the basics of golf. Each hour-long Beginner lesson teaches the mechanics of hitting irons & woods, putting and chipping.

The cost is $56.00 for the 5 week session, which includes instruction, an opportunity to play a few holes of golf, and refreshments after the last lesson of the session.

Intermediate Lessons & Golf

Each of the Intermediate sessions includes a lesson followed by a supervised 9 hole round of golf. Intermediate golfers must have been in one of the SHGC junior programs last year, or must be able to score at least 70 for 9 holes of golf. The cost is $84.00 for the 5 week session, which includes the lessons, instructional materials, rounds of golf, and a picnic for golfers on the last day of the session.

We encourage parents to get involved too! If you would like to walk along and supervise a foursome in the Intermediate Jr. program, let us know!

Junior League

The Junior League, is aimed at 12 to 17 year olds interested in playing golf on a more competitive level.

The golfers will play a 9 hole match each week for 8 weeks. Golfers will be required to understand the rules of golf and scoring, and must be able to score in the 60's or lower for 9 holes.

The cost is $99.00 for the 8 week league. This includes the green fees, prize fee, and a lunch on the last day of the league.

Please contact SHGC before signing up for this league if you know your child will miss more than 2 of the scheduled dates.

Parents may sign their juniors up for only ONE session per summer, unless space permits after the initial sign up. Sign-up and Parental Consent forms are available at the Clubhouse. Payment must accompany the application.

Priority will be given until March 1st to those juniors returning to our program. After that date, juniors from the waiting list will be assigned to sessions based upon a first come, first served basis.
